Messages of appreciation and support from around the world for the Bouvet DXpedition 2026 – 3Y0K team

Amateur radio operators from all over the world are coming together to show their support for the Bouvet DXpedition 2026 – 3Y0K. In recent days, we have received a wave of messages full of encouragement, gratitude, and good thoughts for our colleagues on Bouvet Island, working under extreme conditions.

These messages reflect the true spirit of ham radio – solidarity, friendship, and a shared passion for DX and long-distance communication. I invite you to read a few of these messages, each one a testament that the work and effort of the 3Y0K team are appreciated and supported by the international amateur radio community. 73 de Hadrian YO2BTW

Our dear friends!

We are following with emotion and interest your beautiful adventure, a real travelogue, a kind of continuation of a novel written by Jules Verne. It is fantastic!
We follow the pileups and I notice that strong desire of operators all over the world to succeed in QSOs with you on all bands, in all working modes.
I notice and admire at the same time the patience and altruism that you always prove!
What you are doing represents a huge success, for which we address you warm congratulations! You have transposed into reality the motto ONE WORLD, ONE LANGUAGE, ONE FRIENDSHIP!
With the best consideration,
GL &73 BY YO2ABO, Anton-Pavel “Toni” Dihel, on behalf of YO2KBQ – C.S.R. ADMIRA ARAD

A true example of facing all challenges together with teamwork. I am so proud that the two co-leaders of this team are from my country, Romania, Adrian – KO8SCA and Cezar – VE3LYC. I know the tremendous efforts they have put in together with the rest of the team to turn this dream, this passion-filled desire, into reality… and the many difficult trials they went through to reach the DXpedition destination. Three years of effort, sacrifice, and determination. A great human achievement from which we all have much to learn (if we choose to)!

Congratulations and best wishes to the entire team of the Bouvet DXpedition 2026 – 3Y0K!
Your dedication, courage, and passion for amateur radio inspire the global ham radio community. Bouvet Island is one of the most challenging places on Earth, and your effort to activate it is truly remarkable.
I am happy to say that I was able to receive your signals in both SSB and CW. It was a wonderful moment for me as a ham radio operator!
Thank you for your hard work and dedication. I wish you good propagation, safe operations, many successful QSOs, and a safe return home.
73 and best of luck!

We wish you to complete this wonderful expedition.
Take care of the YL from XYL because it’s their month, and of course, this time don’t neglect the little fish. Let the sharks handle themselves…

Dear Bouvet DXpedition team,
My sincerest congratulations and deep respect for the extraordinary effort you have put into activating Bouvet Island, one of the most isolated and challenging places on Earth.
I was very happy and honored to make a QSO with your station. Behind that brief moment on the air lies an impressive amount of dedication, courage, technical skills, and teamwork under extremely difficult conditions.
Your work has brought joy to thousands of ham operators worldwide. By giving us the opportunity to contact Bouvet, you have written another remarkable page in DX history.
Thank you for your passion, perseverance, and commitment to the ham radio community.
With great appreciation and best wishes for a safe and successful expedition.
73 and respect, YO4ATW – Marcel Aleca, Brăila, Romania

AI and robots will never have the ability to replace or surpass the Ham Spirit. Ham Spirit is the engine and the powerful force that allowed the 3Y0K team to make this dream come true for all of us, the so-called OMs.

Thank you, Mauro Giacon YO2GNX

You are writing history! Much success, all my respect, and I hope we will hear each other on the air in the coming days and, above all, meet safely after you return!

Mihai – LB9HI / YO6SM

Congratulations on the effort put into organizing and carrying out one of the most interesting DX expeditions of recent years. It was a special pleasure to exchange reports in CW and FT8 with a new country for me. Outstanding operators.

73 and may you return home safely, and I hope we will hear each other again in other expeditions.

73, Marcel – W1ARY

A dream come true! 3Y0K is on the air! Congratulations to everyone who made us happy!

Thanks very much for uploading this video!

It’s great being able to see the various features of the island. I first looked at the Google Maps view and topographic map (courtesy of Wikipedia) when the DXpedition before last arrived in the vicinity of the island (the one where a ship’s engine failed and they had to leave before they’d even set foot on the island). It’s great being able to see the topography, and identify features such as Larsøya, Nyrøysa and the weather station, Cape Circoncision, Cape Valdivia, etc.

The glaciation is quite extensive, and shows just how few safe landing points exist, and how dangerous it would be to move around on-foot away from the landing areas – there are crevasses everywhere!

Congratulations to the 3Y0K team for their efforts. Thankfully I have been able to work them as an ATNO on 17 & 15m both CW, although I had to make a 2nd QSO on 17m because the first one appears to have been a pirate. (Two friends worked the last DXpedition – later it turned out that one had actually worked the DXpedition but the other had worked pirate(s) using the same callsign. ☹ I never had the opportunity to work them, and now 3Y0K has given me the opportunity to put that entity in the log!)

Thank you for making this and sharing it with all of us!

I am of course subscribed with notifications enabled and thumbs up!

Much respect to all, esp the pilots. Flying a chopper or any other aircraft at low altitude in that area is high risk & the weather is usually violent & dangerous about 95% of the time, if not, low hanging clouds are often present & high winds & rough seas. Conditions can also change very rapidly. This is a rare opportunity & unusually good conditions that they’re currently experiencing. I hope it remains good for the DXpedition & their travels down there.

Only respect for such an endeavour! Courage and determination! Congratulations! Professionally organized with safety of all crew in mind. Whishing a safe return home for everybody! 73

last dx pedition were swimming or floating with the equipment they were not prepared lots of money and time wasted, i see they have a helicopter. very smart witout it it will all be wasted effort, god luck be safe so far no conditions from ne PA

Thank the Deities that there are many facets to the hobby. Because I see no point whatsoever in this entire “DXpedition” thing. Seems about as useful as an FT8 “QSO”.

AMAZING! DR Mike,VY0BRR
