About Me
Greetings from the Mountain!

My name is Hadrian Portase Feldmann, known in the amateur radio world by the callsign YO2BTW. I live in the heart of nature at Solaris WoodLand, Transylvania, over 1,000 m above sea level, near the Retezat Mountains—a place where the quiet of the forest and the resonance of radio antennas blend into my everyday life. Over time, I have built a path where technology, creativity, art, and nature walk hand in hand.
Amateur Radio
Amateur radio is one of my greatest passions. I have been a licensed operator for over 50 years. Whether it’s emergency communications (EmComm), long-distance low-power contacts (QRP and DX), or experiments with satellites and digital modes, radio is more than a hobby for me—it’s a way to connect people, worlds, and friends.
I am a proud member of:
YO DX CLUB #531

Radioclub ADMIRA Arad – YO2KBQ

International DX Association – INDEXA #5855

Digital Technology & PCs
Another strong passion is PC technology. I love assembling and testing custom systems and experimenting with the newest processors and graphics cards. Recently, I transitioned from Intel to AMD Ryzen, exploring the advantages of the latest architectures. This computing power allows me to work efficiently in photo/video editing, web design, audio processing, gaming, and other creative or technical projects that demand high performance.
Gaming
I train with flight simulators, learning to operate a variety of aircraft—from commercial airliners to fighter jets and helicopters. I’m equally thrilled by car racing and shooter games.
Aeromodelling
I enjoy building and piloting various flying models: drones, gliders, and airplanes. I even built some of the first drones capable of filming with GoPro cameras and now use the latest DJI technology.
Astronomy
As an amateur astronomer, I love exploring the night sky, observing and photographing the Moon and other accessible celestial objects. I own a 1-meter Newtonian telescope with a dedicated tripod, along with several terrestrial telescopes.
Content Creation
I also create and share digital content. I run the YouTube channel “YO2BTW – Ham Radio – Resilience & Preppers Life,” where I document passions like amateur radio, bushcraft, prepping, field sound recording, 3D printing, and podcasts—combining technical aspects with nature experiences and reflections on resilience.
Art
Artistic creativity is an important part of my life. From 3D printing and painting, to drawing, digital art, and handmade jewelry from copper and brass, each project expresses my imagination and desire to create something unique.
Bushcraft & Prepping
I draw inspiration from the simplicity and strength of nature. I practice bushcraft, prepare with a prepper mindset, and practice archery—both compound and Olympic styles. I also enjoy off-road adventures with my Jeep and ATV. These experiences help me develop resilience and maintain balance in an increasingly unpredictable world.
Music
Music is another part of my universe. I am an amateur DJ and digital music creator, exploring electronic sounds and nature-inspired rhythms. My collection includes keyboards, classic and electronic drums, electric guitars, bass guitar, and acoustic guitars, among others.
Handmade Creations
In quieter moments, I find joy in handmade crafts—from natural perfumes and artisanal soaps to soy-wax scented candles, as well as wood carving, woodworking, and creating practical items with a personal touch.
Metal Detecting
I’m also drawn to metal detecting, a passion that blends outdoor adventure with the discovery of hidden stories buried in the earth, connecting me to both history and modern exploration.
Together with my wife Felicia-Gabriela (YO2MGI), I have been organizing various gatherings, training camps, and workshops at Domeniu Solaris – Solaris WoodLand – Transylvania for several years. These events focus on Bushcraft/Prepping, EmComm, personal development, mountain living, and resilience.
For me, all these passions are not separate activities but threads woven into a single story: a life lived among antennas and forests, processors and colors, technology and tradition, creativity and resilience.
My motto:
“Tech + Art + Nature = Resilience & Creativity”
